Building An Effective Team With Systems Thinking
The overall course objective of this module is to enhance the proficiencies of PMETs in managing design outputs, studios and/ or projects by applying the key concepts of systems thinking to their professional practices. This will be undertaken through the evaluation of the interdependencies of different departments across the organisation, the different employees in an organisation and the different organisations in an industry so as to link patterns and trends across systems, programmes and operations. Most particularly, the keen design manager, studio manager and project manager must be able to see the functionalities and cross-functionalities of the teams they manage, the relationships between the design department, accounts department, and other departments in their organisations, as well as the interdependencies between their organisations, their vendors and their clients.
